Does anyone know if both DSC and DTC can be disabled at the same time; if so, what's the sequence for making this happen? Appreciate 0. Major General. Originally Posted by dradernh.

I hate to appear as slow as I really am here, but I don't have the car at the moment, so I can't follow your instructions directly. Plus, this will be my first time on the track in a street car in many years, so I'll just be tippy-toeing around the track finding out what the new suspension, wheels and tires, and diff will let me do - and not do! Changing to Sport plus will have the same level of assists as traction mode but different settings for driveline etc.
See the handy chart below which is mostly correct. Originally Posted by Nugget. I think the logic is that on track you are better off with a more linear throttle personally, I like mine in sport mode, but I'm such a newbie I'm nowhere close to outdriving the nannies.
And I think that after all the other aids are turned off, you are left with the electronic LSD, unless you've coded that out. Originally Posted by Maynard. Okay, all are modes of their own - it's good to understand this. Just need to test the limits somewhere safe. Last edited by Liquidpaper; at PM.. All times are GMT The time now is PM.

This mode reduces stability control, and adds increased traction. This is used in heavy snow, rain or loose gravel or any environment where you need extra traction but you don't want the stability control intervening because it always thinks your skidding.
Some wheel slipping is allowed under DTC. Hold the button down for 5 seconds turns off both DSC dynamic stability control and DTC dynamic traction control but the e-diff is activated. In this mode, power to the engine is not controlled. The only action the computer will take is to apply braking to the rear wheel that is spinning the most. When DSC dynamic stability control is on, the goal isn't just to stop the rear wheels from spinning.
The goal is to prevent the car from going out of control. The computer will use engine cut out, and individual brakes to slow the car down and bring it back in line. That works opposite from the E-Diff, which tries to slow down the wheel that's spinning, to shift power to the one that is not. Find More Posts by bradleyland. It is great for those times that you're caught off guard. I turn if off as soon as I start the car. I don't like it. When I need to pull out on the highway quickly and apply a lot of throttle, it hinders acceleration. It's a system with slow reactions compared to newer cars with faster processors. If you hold down the DSC button for 10 seconds I may be wrong on the exact duration and purpose but it doesn't fully disable the system but after 5ish seconds of wheel spin it finally cuts power and disables throttle.
E39 WhatsApp Chat Gruppe. I really think it's good to have. I like having that safety net on a wet and rainy day. But when it's off, the car really seems to open up if youre trying to drive it hard. I have turned it off to get up my snow covered driveway. Originally Posted by RuskiE Originally Posted by JimLev. I've tried this on my M62tu, didn't work. Maybe it does on the I6 and non tu cars. Just pressing the DSC button disables the dynamic stability control. Holding it down disables traction control.
